Join the Laid Back Dungeon Master's New Adventure on Kickstarter

Laid Back Dungeon Master’s latest Kickstarter is now in its final 48 hours.

Entitled Shimmerdown Caverns, this campaign is seeking funds for a gamesmasters’ workbook and an accompanying sets of connected maps. Designed for 5e and / or your favourite OSR game, Shimmerdown Caverns offers 144 pages of fantasy roleplaying goodness, including:

A 144-page soft or hardcover book / PDF stuffed with 16 ‘hand-drawn, connected, old school maps’ of varying dungeons, all of which ‘can be used individually or connected together to form a cavernous dungeon’. Each of these maps include spaces for various annotations, sessions notes and whatnot. They have also been designed specifically to allow GMs to ‘decide on the scale of [the] dungeon’ as well as ‘the orientation of the map’. It is also up to the gamesmasters to determine ‘the environment and / or hazards for [their] players to contend with [and] encounter and / or fight’.

The campaign has already attracted sufficient backing to not only meet its funding goal, but to also unlock Ruins of Rukdar-Zin; this 134-page, softcover book / PDF includes ‘20 hand-drawn, connected old school maps’.Designed as something of a sandpit for DMs, these maps include spaces for said Dungeon Masters / GMs to add their own creatures, treasures, NPCs et al, and to add ‘Session Notes as you run players through your adventures!’ As with its sister book, all twenty of these ‘can be used individually or connected together to form a massive Mega-Dungeon’. Nice!

Shimmerdown Caverns ends on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025 at 11:01 PM; just in time to treat yourself for Christmas.
