You're on thin ice my pedigree chums! Steamforged's Thornfall Alliance joins the Tribes subscription with Midas and his farrow bone grinders. Porcine pugilists harvesting enemies for spare parts and primitive magics. They go through bone like butter. #Warmachine #myminifactory #mmf #miniatures #fantasy #scifi
Steamforged Games have given us a look at their new Tribes releases, and they’re the real squeal.
Available via Steamforged Games’ digital Tribes subscription, this new wave of pig hitters is all about the Thornfall Alliance. This parcel of porcine pugilists is led by Midas.
A ‘potent bone grinder’, Midas is imbued with both ferocity and cunning; he’s also ‘empowered by lives stolen and feasted upon, consuming his enemies to grasp their vigor and knowledge’; he could have just asked. Midas’ morbid relationship with the death doesn’t end there: he can also animate the dead.
Midas also has a rather brutal pet by the name of Lytiersis. This big ol’ boar likes to get his hooves wet by stomping Midas’ enemies into burger meat and harvesting their remains to ‘conjure primitive magics’. He is ably supported by a trio of Bone Grinders. These little piggies’ hobbies include ‘skinning and deboning creatures of all kinds’ and drawing upon the magical energies ‘latent in their grisly trophies’; they also enjoy water colour painting and stamp collecting.
It’s well-known pigs and boars will eat almost anything, and these Razor Boars are hungry to get into battle. Larger than wolves and armed with major league tusks, these warpigs are more than capable and running down and killing their own dinner.
And, just in case any of these farrow pick up an ouchie, Targ has all the surgical tools and painkilling stimulants he needs to patch up Midas’ hogs. He also has a massive pet dice called Dicey McDiceface.
Those of us who don’t have a 3D printer can look forward to picking up these new miniatures on the Steamforged store in March.
