You know the story. You wait for a bus for ages and then two come along at the same time. Well, it might not have been that long since Cubicle 7 gave us new Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay books but they’re releasing not one but TWO new ones into retail in the next week.
Starting up in the moutains of the Old World, or the Grey Mountains to be exact, we have Lords of Stone and Steel which is a guide to the Empire of the Dwarves and the Hold of Karak Norn. Many of the Dwarfs’ ancient holds have been pillaged by Orcs and Goblins, or infested by the foul Skaven, but some endure. One such is Karak Norn, famed for its cannon foundaries, cunning merchants, lively taverns, and it’s elite garrison - the Peak Guard. Lords of Stone and Steel not only gives us a guide to Karak Norn but the wider Dwarven realm of Karaz Ankhor. The book is also chocked full of other info, including rules for fighting underground combat, important Dwarven patrons, new downtime Events and Endeavours, and plenty of ideas for adventures.
From the mountainous home of the Dwarves we travel to the coast. To the lands of Cothique to be exact, with the Sea Wardens of Cothique. At one point in their history the area was continually harrased by Norse raiders and Dark Elf corsairs, but that was before the creation of the Shifting Isles who now prevent hostile fleets from navigating to Cothique’s shores.

Now free of threat, the nobles of Cothique indulge in their own intrigues and temptations, allowing hidden threats to to creep in and take hold in the neglected corners of their realm. Agents of Chaos and the Dread King of Naggaroth stir up trouble and lay the foundations for future conquest of the unsuspecting lands. The book gives us a guide to the land, as well as an in-depth look at the port city of Tor Koruali. Threats to Cothique and Ulthuan are covered, such as the Kraken and Norse infiltrators, alongside some of the realms patrons including the High Elf Prince Dalloran and his children. As you would expect a number of adventure hooks are present to get your party into trouble, as well as a plot by Naggarthoth’s most dangerous agent to befoul the rivers of Cothique.
Both boths are 96 pages and are hitting stores imminently.

It’s been almost forty years since Ereb Altor was first introduced to the world in the Swedish Sinkadus magazine. It became the first major campaign world for the Dragonbane RPG and, thanks to Helmgast AB and Astrolab Game Studios, will be seeing an English-language release later this year after a crowdfunding campaign due this summer.
