Ereb Altor - Dragonbane's Original Swedish Setting Set for English Release

It’s been almost forty years since Ereb Altor was first introduced to the world in the Swedish Sinkadus magazine. It became the first major campaign world for the Dragonbane RPG and, thanks to Helmgast AB and Astrolab Game Studios, will be seeing an English-language release later this year after a crowdfunding campaign due this summer.

Helmgast wrote on the games Facebook page: “Ereb Altor is the world for Drakar och Demoner (Dragonbane) that originated in the 80s. It’s a full world with different regions, religions and cultures. Our Ereb Altor is a new polished version that is more coherent than the original but have much of it’s flavour intact. Our way of building the world is always with adventure as a core structure. Everything we present is useful to build a story, create a narrative or intrigues.

The books include rules for traveling long distances, sailing, battle at sea, new magic and kin’s, heroic abilities, gear, history of the continent, cosmos and goods, a book full of adventures and guides to create a character with background based in different regions. It’s the continent of adventure.

Swashbuckling on the open seas, eldritch rituals and forgotten gods, dragonslaying and intrigue is always around the corner. Its a setting that is designed to be played, not read. Still, it is also massively inspired by history - bronze age Mesopotamia for gods and demons, the renaissance Mediterranean for the corsairs and city states, and the Holy Roman and Ottoman Empires for the crumbling realms full of strife and conflict.”

From the salt-splashed shores of Trakoria to the metropolises of the Copper Sea, from the icy glaciers of Orghin to the steaming jungles of the Samkars: continents of magic and adventure await you and your gaming group once again.
