Okay, colour me biased, but…
…Years ago, I landed my first gig in the tabletop gaming industry: writing material for Cubicle' 7’s The Laundry RPG. So I’m psyched to see the game is back … and it’s just as cool as it ever was.
Based on the Charles Stross’ series The Laundry Files, this new edition of The Laundry Roleplaying Game sees agents of the Special Operations Executive’s Q-Division—more commonly known as "the Laundry"—tackle occult and Lovecraftian threats.
Central to this new edition, The Operative’s Handbook includes everything players will need to generate and endanger their new characters. As Laundry agents, these characters will enjoy endless opportunities to travel all over the world London and the UK to face occult threats ‘way above their pay grade’. A typical work day will combine ‘mind-melting terror, high-tech espionage’, and, as this is the Civil Service we’re talking about, oodles of paperwork.
The Supervisor’s Guide, meanwhile, provides GMs with everything they need to run scenarios and steer their players toward insanity and / or near certain death.
This tranche of pre-releases also includes the Introduction to Applied Occult Computing (a new scenario and visitors guide to the unseen side Milton Keynes), and Black Bag Jobs Reopened, which includes not only a selection of new scenarios, but also updated versions of some classic adventures from the first edition.
See the Cubicle 7 website for more details.
