Marvel Monday #9

Well, I'm tired from a weekend of gaming in Sheffield so I'll keep this short for now as I forgot to take photos anyway 😅

We played two of the Ultimate Encounters, All Will Be Metal and Unstoppable Colossus which are free on the Atomic Mass Games site using the links above.

Ultron kicked us hard and we almost lost early doors by forgetting it was an automatic lid if he controlled all 4 of the doomsday consoles. We still lost this way as he rinsed his way around the board knocking aside anything in his path. I reckon a second play through would have been a different outcome but we had the second encounter to get through - and we claimed a moral victory as most of our characters were villains so probably wanted the city destroyed anyway.

Unstoppable Colossus we definitely played a more tactical game, working out potential paths to be crossed as Piotr smashed his way across the board and setting up our little Cerebro beams to calm him down. Colossus still managed to make a mess of people if they got too close and had already knocked down half of the towers before coming to a stop.

I forgot to take photos until the penultimate turn when Colossus had just smashed the third tower and was turning towards the fourth.

Playing things like MCP in a cooperative and narrative manner is a great way to spend some time. Working together against the game rather than against each other is something I wish was included more and I'm already planning the next list to try again. Ultron had better be ready.
