Paws for Effect’s latest Kickstarter is now in its final 48 hours.
Entitled 100 Trials, Games & Competitions for D&D 5e, this new project presents D&D players with a book containing, well, 100 trials, games and competitions. It has been designed to enrich scenarios and campaigns with ‘little sparks of culture and personality that give a setting its charm’; these sparks are presented in the form of various challenges and tests.
The book has been devised to present not only a deep dive into the ‘many ways people compete, celebrate, and test their limits’, but also a range of challenges which GMs can drop into their games ‘on a moment’s notice’. Said challenges range from spellcaster zap battles, The Princess Bride-style duels of wit and wisdom, or even tests ‘handed down by the gods themselves’. Whatever the case, each one is designed to imbue scenarios and games a variety of fun and engaging Gordian brainteasers and conundrums for your characters to contest.
A section of the book provides DMs with guidance on how to present and preside over these challenges and vignettes.
Although designed for 5e, 100 Trials, Games & Competitions for D&D 5e is system agnostic and can be used in any TTRPG system. It is available in full-colour PDF, and both soft and hardcover formats.
This campaign is already fully funded. It send son ends on Wednesday, January 7th at 6:40 PM UTC.
See the Kickstarter page for more details.

A controversy over a board game advert application, and the reasons given for its refusal, have led to BoardGameGeek firing their Advertising Manager.
