More Marvellous Middle-earth Minis!

A fierce, green war drake with prominent spines and decorative armor stands atop a rocky outcrop, showcasing its detailed scales and menacing expression. In the background, an Easterling warrior clad in ornate armor holds a spear, partially obscured by rocks, emphasizing the drake's imposing presence. The scene is set against a blurred, sandy terrain, enhancing the focus on the miniatures.

Games Workshop have revealed yet more Middle-earth miniatures.

As seen on the Warhammer Community website, these new additions include the war drakes of Rhûn and the Umbar ballista. The former are fierce, venomous lizards venerated by the Easterlings. Often fielded by larger Easterling armies, war drakes produce a slow-acting venom which inflicts a -1 penalty to the Fight Value and Attacks of any model they wound.

Two fierce war drakes of Rhûn are depicted, showcasing their armored backs adorned with golden spikes and intricate details. The drakes are positioned on rocky terrain with tufts of grass, one drake displaying a menacing expression while the other appears poised and alert. Their scales are a mix of dark green and brown, emphasizing their formidable presence in the Middle-earth setting.

The Umbar ballista, meanwhile, brings some real grunt to the corsairs’ ranged attacks. Benefitting from Strength 8 attacks and the special rules Direct Shot, Piercing Shot and Bladed Bolts, the ballista is enough to make even the bravest enemies scurry for cover.

A detailed scene features a wooden Umbar ballista at the center, supported by a sturdy base and surrounded by tufts of grass. Flanking the ballista are three miniature corsairs, each dressed in dark, rugged attire, with one holding a sword and another gesturing with a hand raised. The background includes hints of a weathered environment, with barrels and a blurred structure, enhancing the atmosphere of a battle-ready setting.

See the Warhammer Community website for more details.

#GamesWorkshop adds venomous war drakes and Strength 8 ballistas to Middle-earth! Easterlings get poisonous lizards while Umbar corsairs receive "make-elves-into-kebabs" technology. Checking my Tolkien appendices - can't seem to find that bit. #MiddleEarth #Miniatures
