Blackwood's priestess has been missing three nights. The mayor's offering silver to whoever finds out why, and he genuinely doesn't know the real answer is worse than he's prepared for.

Underneath the trade deals and the town's quiet corruption is a cult, funded by a merchant nobody questioned, feeding people to something they believe is a god. Tonight they're wrong about what they've actually been calling, and by morning the town belongs to it.

The Mending gives you the full details in every location, not a sequence to march through. If the ritual happens before anyone sets foot in the mayor's office, that's fine. Breathing room for a table that won't be railroaded, and enough structure underneath that nothing falls apart when they wander away.

This is the origin of a recurring figure who'll be showing up again, and the book is upfront about the fact that beating her was never the goal. Surviving her, and finding out what you owe her, was.

System-agnostic and built to run with minimal conversion, kitted specifically for Mörk Borg with DR-based stat blocks throughout.
