Warlord Games have opened pre-orders on their new Pike & Shotte supplement, Death and the Landsknecht.
Focusing on the Italian Wars of 1494-1559, this new supplement celebrates the famous—not to mention colourful—Landsknecht mercenaries.
Also known as ‘Lansquenets’, these gaudy German mercenaries fought across Europe in the early modern period. They saw extensive action from the late 15th century to the early 17th century, forming the bulk of the Holy Roman Empire's Imperial Army during the Habsburg-Valois wars, the Habsburg-Ottoman wars, and the European wars of religion.
A special promotional miniature will also be included with all pre-ordered copies of Death and the Landsknecht. Exclusive to this release, it depicts the English noble, Richard de la Pole. Known as ‘The White Rose’, de la Pole was a rival to Henry VIII whose ambitions on the English throne came to nought. Instead, he ended his days as an ally of King Francis I of France, and died fighting at Pavia in 1525.
See the Warlord Games website for more details.
