Fantasy Flight Games are now taking pre-orders on their latest release Marvel Champions: The Card Game.
Described as a ‘new custom scenario expansion’, Civil War recreates the seismic Marvel Comics storyline of the same name. Published across a host of Marvel titles throughout 2006–07, Civil War saw the U.S. government decree that all superpowered individuals were to submit to the Superhero Registration Act, thus subjecting them to official regulation. The superpowered community found itself divided, with one half endorsing the act, and the other opposing it; superpowered conflict soon followed as the heroes fought their respective corners. The events in these comicbooks would go on to the influence the 2016 Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War.
This new expansion reflects the theme of hero versus hero; it features no villains, and all games will pit heroes against heroes; that’s right, kids! No supervillains! Just heroes punching heroes!
