Villains Beware! Invincible Superheroes are Coming!

Free League are preparing to kickstart their Invincible roleplaying game.

Based on groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, this forthcoming RPG will be produced by Free League and Skybound,

The Kickstarter will raise funds to produce a comprehensive core rulebook and a starter set. Both will feature illustrations by Walker and Ottley, and games design Adam Bradford (Dungeons & Dragons, Cortex Prime) and Free League co-founder Tomas Härenstam (ALIEN RPG, Blade Runner RPG, Dragonbane).

On a personal level, this project gets two thumbs from me; not only is the source material great, but Härenstam cites TSR’s venerable Marvel Superheroes RPG as a favourite from yesteryear and an influence on his game design. As a fellow devotee of TSR’s Marvel Superheroes, I can confidently say that if Invincible’s mechanics are only half as cool as Marvel’s old FASERIP system, then it’ll be a cracker.
