Games Workshop have released a new tranche of narrative scenarios for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.
Revealed earlier today, this new selection of scenarios recreates three iconic scenes from The Hobbit. The first two simulate the book’s eighth chapter, ‘Flies and Spiders’, as Bilbo attempts to rescue Thorin Oakenshield and company from the gigantic webs of Mirkwood. The following battle with the spiders is also recreated in the second of the three scenarios.
This trio is rounded off with a scenario in which Legolas defends Lake-town against Bolg and his Hunter Orcs.

The enemies of Azog are in for a rock-hard time.
Previewed yesterday on the Games Workshop website, the new Middle-earth Gundabad catapult troll is the perfect illustration of goblin ingenuity: strap a catapult on the back of a grumpy troll and voila! You’ve got yourself a warmachine that is not only easy to manoeuvre, but also defends itself from anyone stupid enough to get within arms reach.
This new miniature will be cast in Forge World resin. It is due for release at the same time as the forthcoming Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Matched Play Guide.
